Janel is principal in charge of CFO/Controller Services at Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C.
Janel earned her B.S. degree in Accounting from Gannon University. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1996 and a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2005. She also earned the credential of Certified in Financial Forensics. Janel has spent a majority of her career in the area of accounting and auditing and has participated in significant consulting projects. She is very active in the firm's intern recruiting process.
Professionally, Janel is a member of the American Institute and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
PERSONAL
Janel is a past president of the United Way of Erie County and currently serves on the United Way Endowment Leadership Committee. Janel is a strong advocate for women-owned businesses and is a past panel member and program coordinator of the Athena Powerlink program, a program that supports women in business. Currently Janel serves on the governing body of the Athena Powerlink program. She is a member of the Erie Women's Fund of the Erie Community Foundation, a member of The Rotary Club of Erie and serves on the executive committee of Women United for Community Schools.
